About The Training Den
Hi, I'm Grace. Welcome to The Training Den.
A few years ago my soul dog was getting older and struggling with arthritis. Watching him slow down was hard, and it sent me down a rabbit hole of looking into canine nutrition, trying to understand what I could do to help him feel better and move more comfortably. I never came back out. That rabbit hole became a passion, then a purpose, and eventually it became this.
Since then I've been studying canine nutrition, and it's become the thing I care about most. I'm currently completing my Professional Certification in Canine Nutrition and Dietetics through ANME, deepening the knowledge that goes into every meal I make, and I'm connected to the Small Animal and Equine Naturopathic Association as I build my practice. The more I learn, the more I realise how much of a difference real, whole food can make to a dog's life, from their energy and coat to their joints and their years. But The Training Den was never about cramming every nutrient into one perfect bowl. I don't think that's realistic, and I don't think it's the point.
For me it's a whole food, holistic approach. Real ingredients, variety over time, and the whole picture: food, movement, calm and confidence. A lifestyle, not just a meal. I make my meals the way I'd feed my own dogs, because that's exactly what I'm doing.
That holistic thinking is also why I run confidence building sessions. They're for dogs who are a bit unsure or nervous, but just as much for the owners who want to have fun with their dog and build a stronger bond. Nothing strict, no pressure, just come along and enjoy it. Working the mind and body together, because a thriving dog needs both.
At the heart of all of this are my own two, Milly and Ted. They're a big part of why I do this, my taste testers, my inspiration, and the reason I care so much about getting it right. Everything I make, I make with them in mind.
I can't wait to share this journey with you.
Grace
